Keep those pesky bugs away!
Aaaah Bothersome Bug Relief works to repel mosquitoes, many species of flies, bees, and other flying and crawling insects. This unique formulation of essential oils and other natural ingredients has been blended to provide horses and their people with pleasant smelling and long-lasting relief from the irritation of bothersome bugs. All of the ingredients are acknowledged by the EPA as effective insect repellents and/or are classified by the FDA as GRAS (“Generally Regarded As Safe”) food ingredients.
We created this blend as an alternative to existing bug repellents, most of which are chemically based and often toxic. In fact, we noticed that when we used commercial "fly sprays", our horses would run away when they saw the spray bottle come out. Now the come around when the flies are bad, and stand still when we spray them. We use it on ourselves, as well.
Since Aaaah Bothersome Bug Relief is essential oil based, it tends to work on a "cumulative" basis. It seems that the more regularly you can spray the horses, the longer it lasts each time. And if they work up a sweat, the effectiveness (and smell) will come back to the surface.
It is a repellent, not an insecticide, so it doesn't actually kill the bugs ... just keeps them away. It will stop them from landing, but they still may fly around in the area. I've seen a deer fly fly around and around my horse and even land on the halter - but it wouldn't land on the horse.
To use, dilute as directed on the bottle - three parts water to one part concentrate - shake well, and pour into a spray bottle. Spray as desired on horses, dogs, other animals (but not cats), or yourself. Repeat as needed.
Ingredients: Distilled water, Essential oils of Cedar, Cinnamon, Citronella, Peppermint, Rosemary, Pennyroyal Mint, Thyme, Palmarosa, Lemongrass, Clove, Spearmint, Eucalyptus, Lavender, Tea Tree, Lime and Patchouli.(.20%) and Gum Arabic. All ingredients are classed as “Generally Regarded as Safe” by the FDA.
